| Men’s health has taken a major step forward with the launch of England’s first-ever Men’s Health Strategy. This publication represents a new drive to improve how men access care, engage with services, and manage their long-term health. The strategy recognises that men have specific needs, preferences and health behaviours, and it creates new opportunities for earlier intervention, better support and more tailored health communication. This session will unpack the evidence, policy priorities and practical implications of the Men’s Health Strategy, with a particular focus on the role of lifestyle and nutrition in addressing key conditions affecting men, from cardiovascular disease to metabolic health. You’ll gain clarity on what the government is doing, where gaps remain – especially around diet, weight management and prevention – and how practitioners can play an active role in supporting men more effectively. By the end of the talk, you’ll feel confident navigating the strategy, translating its aims into real-world practice, and empowering men to take proactive steps towards better health. |
