How to approach doing a peer review

Professor Bernard Corfe , Bernard Corfe is Professor of Human Nutrition and Health at University of Newcastle. His early career was in gene regulation in bacteria and in cancer cells, before moving into nutrition mid-career investigating the molecular nutrition of short-chain fatty acids in colon cancer prevention. Professor Corfe's longstanding research interests are in gut health and his approaches are multidisciplinary. Professor Corfe was previously Theme Lead for Cellular and Molecular Nutrition from 2011-2018 and was elected to Honorary Programmes Officer in 2017. He also works closely with the NTSA to deliver training including critical appraisal through the NS Journal Club. Professor Bruce Griffin ,Professor Griffin is a biomedical scientist with expertise in lipid metabolism, nutritional biochemistry and cardiovascular disease. After his BSc in medical laboratory science (1984), he gained his PhD on the effects of exercise & diet on human plasma lipoproteins at the University of Aberdeen(1988), and undertook postdoctoral researchin Pathological Biochemistry at Glasgow Royal Infirmary until 1994. Since then, he has held academic posts as a Lecturer, Senior lecturer, Reader and Professor of Nutritional Metabolism at the University of Surrey. Professor Griffin is a teacher of undergraduate dietitians, biochemists & medical students, and postgraduates in clinical biochemistry and nutritional medicine, and an active researcher in human nutrition in relation to cardiovascular health. He has published widely on the topics of lipids, dietary fat and cardiovascular risk, and has received grants for his research from the Medical Research Council, British Heart Foundation, Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs, Food Standards Agency and Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council.
