Explore community-based solutions to food insecurity and the different approaches being used to improve access to food and address inequalities.
This webinar brings together researchers and practitioners to examine a range of community-based approaches to food insecurity, from breakfast clubs and school lunch programmes to alternatives to traditional food banks.
The speakers explore evidence and practical examples involving social supermarkets, community cafés and student food pantries, as well as the relationship between evidence, policy and community-led action.
Originally presented at The Nutrition Society Member-Led Meeting: Exploring community-based solutions to food insecurity, organised by Professor Eileen Gibney and Dr Hilda Mulrooney and held virtually on 4 March 2026.
